When it comes to our

When it comes to our self-care and meeting our fitness goals, there are many ways that we can achieve it in the way that makes sene for our lifestyle. We at down with Emma Lovewell, Peloton instructor and best-selling author to talk about how she came to fitness, what she loves about it, how we can tackle going to our next bike ride, and how dental hygiene is a key component to our beauty/health routines. ATHLEISURE MAG: When did you fall in love with fitness and when did you realize that you wanted to do it as a career? EMMA LOVEWELL: I’ve always loved movement. Growing up, I was an athlete and a dancer, and that was my first introduction to how powerful it feels to connect with your body. But I didn’t initially think fitness would become my career. It wasn’t until I discovered indoor cycling and began teaching classes that I realized I could combine my passion for movement, music, and helping others into a profession. The ability to positively impact someone’s day through fitness is what ultimately made me pursue it full-time. AM: Obviously, we know that you are a Peloton instructor, what are 3 additional workouts you like to do that we should consider adding into our fitness Sessions? EL: I love strength training because building muscle is one of the best investments you can make in your long-term health. I also enjoy Pilates, which helps me stay mobile and grounded. And whenever I can, I get outside for hiking or long walks—it’s great for both physical and mental wellness. AM: For those that may not have taken a cycling class before, how can someone who is going to their first studio class be best prepared when it comes to taking a class? EL: Remember that everyone was a beginner once. Arrive a little early so you can feel more at ease and it gives you more time to set up your bike properly. Wear comfortable workout clothes, and bring water. Most importantly, focus on having fun rather than keeping up with everyone else. Your first class is about learning the experience and finding your rhythm. AM: You partnered with WATERPIK! Why was this brand synergistic with you and tell us about their campaign Gum Gains! EL: I take my oral hygiene VERY seriously. I’ve flossed religiously for the last 20 years - every single day! And so, just like in the gym, it was time for me to take my oral care routine up a notch and that’s when I started using the WATERPIK PROMAX water flosser. This partnership with WATERPIK on their Gum Gains campaign felt so natural because it’s all about progression and consistency - just like on the bike or lifting weights. Whether it’s my gums or in the gym, I’m committed to prioritizing my health every single day. AM: We all know that dental hygiene is essential and that we should be brushing as well as flossing - why is flossing with the WATERPIK PROMAX something that we should incorporate into our dental routines? EL: The WATERPIK PROMAX water flosser helps restore gum health, not just improve it.* It actually has a brand-new feature called SMARTAD- VANCE Mode that starts gentle and automatically builds up to an optimal intensity. Taking care of your body is so important and your gums are part of that. We can’t forget to work out our gums. AM: As an instructor as well as a busy mom, how do you take time for yourself?
