have a few pairs that

have a few pairs that may have a littleweight to them, but that's because of thedesign and thickness, but even my thickestearrings, aren't that heavy becausethe base is sterling silver and not StainlessSteel.AM: I remember the very first jewelrypiece that I had seen from you was yourLollipop Pendant, which I remember whenthose came out. What was the first piecethat you remember just designing?SIS: The first piece I designed – okay, thefirst earring that I designed was my logoearring and It was because I fell in lovewith my logo. When I decided and I chosemy logo, I said, “oh my God, these are goingto be the hottest freaking hoops! Thisis going to be a hot hoop.”AM: Yeah!SIS: That was my first earring that I designed, and we named, well, my husbandactually named it Infinite Love becauseif you look at my logo, it looks like an infinitysign, you see a heart, and you see abutterfly. So, Todd actually named thoseearrings for me and they're called InfiniteLove. And then my second design was mylollipop and that's, because by the graceof God, thank you Jesus. I am a 20-yearcancer survivor going on 21.I had a lollipop tattoo on my left leg. Letme back up, they found a chondrosarcomain my right, tibia bone. So I had to haveMicrovascular Reconstructive surgery, sothey had to remove my whole tibia boneand replace it with my left, fibular bone.So when they had to go into my left legto take my fibula bone out, the surgeonsaid, “Simone, you may wake up and yourlollipop tattoo may not be there." And Iwas like, “well if there's any way you canavoid from messing up my lollipop tattoo,I would really appreciate it.” I woke upand a part of the lollipop tattoo was onthe front of my right leg because they hadto do a skin graft -AM: Oh wow.SIS: To cover the scarring on wherethey had to open up. So, when I hadcreated my lollipop pendant, my lollipoptattoo actually looked like somebodytook a bite out of it. So I designedmy lollipop, exactly the way it lookedafter my surgery and I called it A SweetTouch of Hope.AM: Yeah.SIS: Because the candy represents howsweet life is and the bite representswhat cancer does.AM: Yeah.SIS: In the bite, my logo, emerges outof it because it's just a reminder of mebeing a cancer survivor, getting well, staying well, and it's all a part of myjourney because life is really sweet.Life is a gift. Because everybody's cancerjourney is different and I praiseGod that I'm here 20 years cancer free.I can walk. I can wear heels.AM: You surely can walk in those heelsas you looked great at the event!SIS: I can’t chase dogs or anything, butI’m here. You know, praise God. And Ican workout and I can wear heels andAnd, you know, and I'm just healthy.AM: Where do you start in terms ofyour design process? Where do you getthe inspiration from?SIS: My inspiration comes from nature, you know what I'm saying? Like, I rememberone day, I was eating somestrawberries, and I was like, you knowwhat, I want to make it, I'm gonnadesign an earring, that's the shapeof a strawberry. So, anything inspiresme, you know? So with the strawberryshape, like I came with the earringcalled Precious Fruit. So Precious Fruitis one of the classics. It was in the firstcollection of my earrings that I designedand it's still a very popular piecebecause the earring is actually shaped
