As the Co-Founder/Creative+ Style Dir of Athleisure Mag, we lovetalking about fashion, entertainment,sports, wellness, fitness, food, beauty,and all of these things that sit inside ofAthleisure Culture.When you talk about sports we focus ona number of areas and Action Sports isone that we’re so thrilled about. We’vehad various athletes representing surfing,skateboarding, and motorsportsthat have been our covers as well as inbooksand features from those in thesports mentioned, as well as snowboarding,climbing, freediving, bouldering, etc.What we love about this brand before wetalk more about them is that we like totake things that are technical that havespecific fabrications that are meant for asport and to style them in shoots wherethey are being worn for the everyday,Out + About, running around. So whenwe heard about Eric Hui and Terracea,it made sense to sit down and chat withhim. The pieces look great, it’s wonderfulthat there is an assortment for womenand men and it’s always tough when yousee outerwear brands that only focus onmens or womens as it can be tough touse them if it doesn’t cover the area ofinterest. As someone who has snowboarded,I love the assortment and whatyou’re doing.Eric, thank you for taking the time to hopon with us today!ERIC HUI: Thank you Kimmie, it’s apleasure to be here and I’m excited tobe able to talk about my story and thefounding of Terracea and I’m excited tohear that you’re a snowboarder as well.I am too and that’s actually a big reasonwhy I started this company!AM: Oh wow, I do want to preface it bysaying it’s not like I’m on an athlete levelor anything, but I do love doing it, falling,and having beverages after!EH: That’s the best part obviously! It’sall about having fun and being out thereright? That’s really the core of it.AM: Exactly!Before we delve into the brand, whatwas your background before coming intothis and since you’re a snowboarder, weknow you have a passion for this sport.What was the nexus of how this came together?Did you grow up in a snow community?EH: Crazy enough, no, I’m actually fromHawaii!AM: Haha that’s what my research toldme!EH: Yeah, I am born and raised there.It’s kind of an interesting story whereI came to the East Coast in 2010 whichwasn’t that long ago, but I was not exposedto any kind of cold weather until Iwas about 18 or 19 years old!Funny enough, the observation for Terraceawas that certain clothing workedfor the cold and the elements aroundhere, especially in the Northeast whereyou have not just cold and snow butwind and freezing rain as well as sleet
